Building a Shared Vision with the Black Chamber of Memphis

At Mission360 Strategies, we believe the strongest plans are built collaboratively—through honest dialogue, shared purpose, and a commitment to meaningful impact. That belief came to life recently through our work facilitating the strategic planning process for the Black Chamber of Memphis (BCoM).

Over the course of the engagement, more than 40 members, leaders, and stakeholders came together to help shape the Chamber’s future. Through facilitated conversations, visioning sessions, and collaborative planning, participants explored not only where the organization is today, but where it hopes to go—and how it can continue creating opportunities across Memphis.

In their quarterly newsletter, BCoM CEO Mark Yates reflected on the experience, sharing:

“What emerged is more than a plan—it’s a shared vision for where we’re going and how we’ll get there together.”

That spirit of collective leadership was evident throughout the process. Participants brought thoughtful perspectives, deep community insight, and a shared desire to strengthen economic opportunity and inclusive growth throughout the region.
